Über Pride Amsterdam

Pride Amsterdam is a festival to celebrate that you can be who you are and love who you want. Once a year our LGBTQi+ community and friends (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer & Intersexual) are the majority in the streets of our capital. Grandfathers and grandmothers dressed in pink with grandchildren and people with t-shirts like "my best friend is gay" or "I am gay for a day" can be seen throughout the city. The fact that we can celebrate our individual freedom so openly and together with the rest of the city symbolizes the open and tolerant city we want to be. At the same time we draw attention to the fact that intolerance is growing and that freedom is not only to be cherished but also strongly protected.
