Über Wood Green, The Animals Charity (Heydon)

To take in unwanted and lost animals. Provide shelter and care, find secure and loving homes and provide advice, support and guidance for pet owners.To care for and re-home animals. All volunteers, whatever their role, are valued not only for the time they give but the skills and expertise they bring to the Charity and for that, we are not only truly grateful but are also committed to providing full encouragement, support and development so that each volunteer's valuable time is best used.
The welfare, care and enrichment of the animals at Wood Green is of paramount importance and we frequently have roles available within the various animal sections and centres.

Roles can include husbandry duties such as cleaning, feeding and grooming the animals through to general socialisation and environmental enrichment.

Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Teams sole purpose is to educate people, young and old, about responsible pet ownership and promoting the Wood Green cause. We have roles available for supporting events, tour guides, mascots, challenge events and community engagement.

Corporate Services
Corporate Services encompasses a vast variety of roles for you to choose from and includes maintenance, plumbing, carpentry, grounds and mechanical maintenance through to stores, security and environmental roles.

We also welcome applications from keen gardeners for various specialist projects at each of our centres.

Fundraising
Our Fundraising Teams are always looking for volunteers to help support community events or take part in an extreme challenge to raise money for Wood Green. Other roles available include delivering campaign packs and selling raffle tickets - ideal for those with minimal availability but still wish to help support Wood Green.
